When picking up stitches along a horizontal edge, work into the centre of the stitch below the cast-off edge or directly above the cast-on edge. Again, you may find it helpful to pick up using a slightly smaller needle.
1 Insert the right needle from front to back through the centre of the stitch.
2 Wrap the yarn around the needle and pull to the front of the work, drawing a loop of yarn through to create a new stitch. Do this for as many stitches as required.
