New skills adding beads

This simple technique allows you to add a sprinkling of beads to the surface of your mittens.

1 Thread a sewing needle that will easily pass through the beads with sewing thread. Knot the ends of the thread and pass the yarn through the loop made. Slide each bead onto the needle, then down the thread and onto the yarn.

2 Work to the required position in the pattern and bring the yarn forward between the needles. Push a bead up the yarn until it is in front of the right needle.

3 Slip the next stitch knitwise, bring the bead up to sit in front of the slipped stitch, then take the yarn to the back of your work and continue the pattern.

right needle, mi, k to next marker, mi, slip marker onto right needle, k to end (46 sts). Row 29: K all StS.

Row 31: K to marker, slip marker onto right needle, mi, k to next marker, mi, slip marker onto right needle, k to end (48 sts). Row 33: K all sts.

Row 35: K to marker, slip marker onto right needle, mi, k to next marker, mi, slip marker onto right needle, k to end (50 sts).
