This can be used anywhere on a row to purl 2 or more stitches together. The examples shown here demonstrate 2 stitches being purled together in order to decrease i stitch.

Purl 2 together creates a slope to the right on the face of the fabric.
l Work to where you need to decrease. Insert the tip of the right needle purlwise into the front of the first 2 stitches on the left needle.
2 Purl the 2 stitches together as if they were a single stitch. You have now decreased l stitch.
2 Knit the 2 stitches together as if they were a single stitch. You have now decreased i stitch.
2 Knit the 2 stitches together as if they were a single stitch. You have now decreased l stitch.
l Work to where you need to decrease. Insert the tip of the right needle knitwise into the back of the first 2 stitches on the left needle.
