Begin at end of tail and using fawn cast on 4 sts.
Work in st-st and inc 1 st at each end of first and every following alternate row until there are 16 sts. P 1 row.
Continue in st-st and dec 1 st at each end of next and every following row until 2 sts remain. Fasten off the 2 sts.
Oversew row ends together from cast on edge as far as the tail shaping. Oversew across cast on sts. Turn right side out and stuff.
Sew remaining open portion of tail to back of puppy, with the fastened-off sts underneath body.
Ears [make two alike]
Begin at lower edge and using fawn cast on 14 sts. P 1 row.
Next row: Inc K wise into every st — 28 sts. Beginning with a P row. st-st 3 rows.
Continue in st-st and dec 1 st at beginning of next 14 rows — 14 sts.
Oversew row ends together. Turn right side out. With oversewn seam at one side of the piece, oversew across cast off sts, then cast on sts. Sew cast off edges of ears to head, just in front of ends of top head seam, with ear seams facing towards back of puppy.
