Canadiana by Patons", 3 /.oz/100g balls, each approx 201yd/183m (acrylic) 2 skeins each of #015 pink (A)

2 skeins of #10728 hot fuchsia (B)

3 skeins #133 light rosewood (C) 2 skeins #014 medium rose (D)

Needles

One pair size 8 (5mm) needles or size to obtain gauge 18" x 18" pillow form

FRONT GIRL'S FLOWER-APPLIQUED BLANKET AND PILLOW

Strip 1

With B, cast on 9 sts. Working in St st, work 11 rows B, 11 rows A. Bind off.

GAUGE

18 sts and 23 rows = 4" over St st using size 8 (5mm) needles. FOR PROPER MEASUREMENTS, TAKE TIME TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE.

Strip 2

Work as for strips 1, using D and C.

BLANKET

Work same as front.

FINISHING

BACK

Approx 48" x 46" Strip 1

With B, cast on 41 sts. Working in St st, work even for 44 rows. Then work 44 rows each A, D, C, B and A. Bind off.

Sew 2 strips tog foil chart. Pick up and k 16 sts along top and lower Strip 2

edges and work as for blanket. Pick up and k 18 sts along sides and With D, cast on 41 sts. Work 44 rows each D, C, B, A, D and C. Bind work in same way. Sew on flowers. Sew three sides of front and back off.

tog. Stuff pillow and sew top edges and corners tog.

Strips 3, 4 and 5

Work as first 2 strips, foil chart for color sequence.

FINISHING

Sew all 5 strips tog foil chart. Block blanket flat. Top edge

With C, pick up and k 201 sts along top edge. Work in garter st (k every row) for 8 rows, inc 1 st each side every other row 3 times-207

sts. Bind off.
