Moss Stitch Coathanger


One 50g ball of Rowan Denim.

Pair of 4mm (No 8/US 6) knitting needles.

6 buttons.

Small amount of wadding to cover coathanger. MEASUREMENTS

To fit a child's coathanger, 30cm/12in long. TENSION

20 sts and 30 rows to 10cm/4in over moss st on 4mm (No 8AJS 6) needles before washing.


With 4mm (No 8/US 6) needles cast on 61 sts. Moss st row K1, *p1, k1; rep from * to end. Rep the last row for 12cm/4%n. Cast off.


See page 6 for Basic Information on making up Denim yam. Cut wadding into 4cm/1 V£in wide strips, wrap round coathanger to cover and stitch in place.

With right sides together, fold knitted strip in half lengthways, join both short ends. Turn to right side. Place over hanger, tack open edge together 2cm/%in from cast-on and cast-off edges. Sew on buttons, evenly spaced through both thicknesses. Remove tacking.
