Striped Quilting Pattern

This delightful pattern makes a honeycomb-like lattice of diamond shapes against a background of striped Garter Stitch.

The fabric is dense both vertically and horizontally.

Multiple of 6 sts plus 2. Colors A and B.

Row 1 (Wrong side)—With A, kl, * pi, k4, pi; rep from *, end kl.

Row 2—With B, kl, * si 1 wyib, k4, si 1 wyib; rep from *, end kl.

Row 3—With B, kl, * si 1 wyif, k4, si 1 wyif; rep from *, end kl.

Row 4—With A, kl, * drop Color A sl-st to front of work, k2, pick up dropped st and knit it; si 2 wyib, drop Color A sl-st to front of work, si the same 2 sts back to left-hand needle, pick up dropped st and knit it, k2; rep from *, end kl.

Row 5—With A, kl, * k2, p2, k2; rep from *, end kl.

Row 6—With B, kl, * k2, si 2 wyib, k2; rep from *, end kl.

Row 7—With B, kl, * k2, si 2 wyif, k2; rep from *, end kl.

Row 8—With A, kl, * si 2 wyib, drop Color A sl-st to front of work, si the same 2 sts back to left-hand needle, pick up dropped st and knit it, k2, drop Color A sl-st to front of work, k2, pick up dropped st and knit it; rep from *, end kl.

Repeat Rows 1-8.
