MAKING UP

I lot machine wash all pieces at 60° (to shrink and felt pieces). Leave to dry. laid tlat. then press following instructions on information page. From decoration patch, cut 2 large and 2 small irregular circle shapes and oversew edges using yarn C. Attach these shapes to one side piece as m photograph. Using yarn C, attach groups of 3 or 4 beads to centre of small circles, and strands of 4-7 beads to centre of larger circles. (To make bead strands, bring yarn through to RS at required position and thread on required number of beads.Then thread yarn back through beads, starting with last-but-one bead so that end bead holds yarn in place.) Foltl ribbon in half and roughly gather up cut ends. Join side pieces along all edges, leaving cast-off edges open and enclosing gathered ends of ribbon in scam at base.Take ribbon loop over decorated side of bag and then thread loop through both "buttonholes" of knitted pieces near upper edge.

TENSION

Based on a srocking stitch tension of 26 sts and 38 rows to 10 cm using 3'/»mm (US 3) needles and Yorkshire Tweed 4 plv.

MAIN FLOWER

Using 4mm (US 6) needles and yarn A cast on 107 sts. Row I (RS): K3. "cast off 5 sts (one st on right needle after cast-oft), K2, rep from * to end. Row 2: K3. "turn and cast on 3 sts, turn and K3. rep from * to end. 81 sts. Beg with a K row. work in st st for rows. C.'ast oil".

Make a second piece hi exactly the same way but using yarn B.

LARGE FLOWER

Using 4mm (US 6) needles and vani B cast on 24 sts.

Break yarn and thread through rem 4 sts. Pull up tight and fasten off securely.

SMALL FLOWERS (make 3)

Using 4mm (US 6) needles and yam B c.tst on 15 sts.

Break yarn ami thread through rem 5 sts. Pull up tight and fasten off securely.

MAKING UP

Pn-ss following instructions on information page. Lay WS of main llmver in yarn B against RS of yarn A section so that cast-off edges match then roll up to form a flower dupe. Sew cast-off edges together to secure, then attach felt circle to hack of flower. Cut lut veiling into two pieces - one 30 cm x 17 cm. and second 30 cm x 12 cm. l ay pieces one on top of the otlier. mate hing one k»ng edge of each piece. Gather up these uutchcsi eslges ami sew to back of felt circle. Attach hair clip to luck of felt circle. Using photograph as a guide, attach Urge and small flowers to wiling, then sew on beads at random, placing 3-5 beads in centre of each tknsvr.aiul sprinkling beads I Axt main flower and over veiling.

Mark positions for 7 buttons on this band - first to come 2 cm up from cast-on edge, last to come 2 cm below neck shaping, and rem 5 buttons evenly spaced betsseen.
