With MC and shorter circular needles, using the backward loop method, cast on 30 sts. Work in St st.
Rows 3-9: Rep Rows l and 3, ending with RS row—48 sts after Row 9 is finished. Rows 10-14: Work even in St st. Row 15 (RS): K12, place rem sts on holder. Shape right shoulder—Rows 16-20: Work even in St st on 12 sts.
Row 21 (RS): Place marker (pm) at beg of row, k 12 sts, cast on 12 sts—24 sts. Row 22: P2, kl, p 1,kl,p to end of row. Row 23: K to last 5 sts, pi, kl, p 1, k2. Row 24: P2, kl, p 1, kl, p to last 2 sts, p2tog. Row 25: K2tog, k to last 5 sts, p 1, k 1, p 1, k2. Rows 26-32: Rep Rows 24 and 25—15 sts rem after Row 32 (WS) is finished.
Place sts on holder. Cut yarn, leaving a 6" tail.
Shape left shoulder: Place yoke sts from holder onto needle, ready to work a RS row. Row 15:Join yarn and bind off 24 sts for back of neck, k to end of row—12 sts rem. Rows 16-20: Work even in St st on 12 sts. Row 21: Cast on 12 sts, k to end of row, pm—24 sts.
Row 22: P to last 5 sts, kl, p1, kl, p2. Row 23: K2, p 1, k 1, p 1, k to end of row. Row 24: P2tog tbl, p to last 5 sts, kl, p 1, k 1, p2. Row 25: K2.pl, kl, pi, k to last 2 sts,ssk.
Rows 26-32: Rep Rows 24 and 25—15 sts rem after Row 32 is finished. Do not cut yarn.

Shape body—Inc row (RS): K2, pi, kl, p 1, *k to next marker, Ml, slip marker (sm), k to next marker, Ml, sm; rep from * 3 more times, k to last 5 sts, pi, kl, pi, k2—120
sts. Change to longer circular needle as necessary to accommodate extra sts.
Cont in St st, keeping first and last 5 sts in pat throughout, rep Inc row every 4th row 12 more times—216 sts. Work 2 rows even. Maintaining first and last 5 sts in pal. change to Garter st (knit every row) for 6 rows. Bind off kwise on WS row.
With WS facing and MC, pick up and k 4K sts evenly spaced around neck opening. V I row. Cont in St st, inc 1 st each end of row every 4th row 5 times—58 sts. Work 2 rows even (24 rows total including pick-up row). Cut yarn, leaving a 4" tail.
With RS facing and CC, pick up and k 20
sts evenly along side edge of collar, k 58 sts, pick up and k 19 sts evenly spaced along the other side edge of collar—97 sts.
Row 2: K4, yo, k5, yo, (k3, yo, k 1, yo) 19 times, k3, yo, k5, yo, k4—139 sts.
Row 4: K4, yo, k6, yo, (k5, yo. k 1, yo) 19 times, k5, yo, k6, yo, k4—181 sts.
Row 8: K4, yo, k8, yo, (k9, yo, k 1, yo) 19 times, k9, yo, k8, yo, k4—265 sts.
Bind off all sts kwise. Weave in loose ends.
