Swedish Weave

In this pattern Color B is never worked, only passed back and forth between the needles as the knitting is done with Color A. The Color B strand need not be held in the fingers at all, but simply pushed from front to back as required. In this way the strand is kept quite loose, which gives the best results. The fabric has an unusually beautiful purl side.

Odd number of sts. Colors A and B.

Cast on with Color A and purl one row. Join Color B.

Row 1 (Right side)—kl Color A st, passing Color B strand across st at front of work; * pass Color B strand to back between needles and knit next Color A st with B in back; pass Color B strand to front between needles and knit next Color A st with B in front; rep from *. Row 2—PI Color A st and bring Color B strand around edge to pass in front (i.e., on the wrong side of work) of purl st; * pass Color B strand to back between needles and purl next Color A st with B in back; pass Color B strand to front between needles and purl next Color A st with B in front; rep from *.

Repeat Rows I and 2. A SECOND TREASURY OI KNITTING PATTERNS
