Vertical Drop Stitch

Contributed by Hildegard M. Eisner, Aldan, Pennsylvania

This pattern is pretty on both sides of the fabric, and also can be used horizontally, as in a sweater worked from one side to the other. To finish, work Row 6 or Row 12 omitting the yo's, then bind off—the original number of stitches will be thus restored.

Multiple of 8 sts plus 4.

Preparation row, right side—Kl, * p2, kl, yo, kl, p2, k2; rep from *, end p2, kl. Rows 1, 3, and 5 (Wrong side)—PI. * k2, p2, k2, p3; rep from *, end k2, pi.
