Prepare plastic rounds for handles as foil: Start with two clean lids and curved, slurp nail scissors. Cut out and remove flat center part of lid. leaving a ' «76mm-widc inner ridge and the outer rim (the pan that snaps over the edge of the can) Sand away any rough spots with cmory board.

With F-5 (3.75 mm) hook. 4 strands of thread held tog as one. and outer rim facing toward you. join thread to ring with a si st worked through center of one ring (hold loop on hook outside ring, insert hook into center of ring and yo. draw llirough loop on hook), eh I. cover ring with approx 80 sc evenly spaced around, join with si st to first sc Fasten off. Rep with rem ring

BAG Notes

  1. Body of bag is worked with 2 strands of thread held tog as one.
  2. Join end of each md w ith si st in first sc

BEADED TRIM Note

  1. Work in joined md». with RS facing
  2. Work w ith single-»trand of thread.
  3. To join beads (sl bead), drop loop from I) hook. Slip oik- bead onto steel h«h»k. Insert steel hook into dropped loop. Keeping work light, draw loop through bead, draw ing up limp to accommodate I) hook. Re-insert 0 hook into loop, tighten and con!.

Hold hag upside down.

Row 1 (RS) With F-5 (3 75 mm) hook and double strands of thread, hold bag nght side up. locate join at center of one side, skip next S sc. join with sl st in next sc. ch I. sc in same sc. sc hi each of next 25 sc—26 sc. Ch I. turn. Row» 2-10 Ch 1. sc in cach across. Ch 1. turn Keep last loop on hook, cut thread leaving IS" tail. With RS of handle and casing facing you. fold casing in half to inside of bag through handle. passing hook and tail of thread through center of handle. Turn. With WS facing and Hutching stsof row 10 of casing to sts of row I. •insert hook in sc of row 10, insert hmik around post of corresponding sc on row I. w ork I sl st to join the 2 sts: rep from • across. Fasten off. Make casing and attach handle to other side of bag in same way. Weave in ends. Steam block rufllcs. being careful not to melt beads or lundles
