Next row (RS) Patt 49 (55:60:67:73) sts and turn, leaving rem sts on a holder.

Work each side of neck separately.

Cast off 3 sts at beg of next row, 21 (24:27:30:33)

sts at beg of foil row, then 3 sts at beg of next row.

Cast off rem 22 (25: 27: 31: 34) sts. With RSfacing, rejoin yarn to rem sts, cast off centre 39 (39:41:41:43) sts, patt to end. Complete to match first side, reversing shapings.


Cast on 59(65:71:78:; needles.

border, bear in mind that the stitch counts vary from row to row, soyou won't always have the number you initially cast on.

Knit the back first to give yourself a feel for the pattern without having to factor in any neckline shaping.


Some patterns call for you to decrease using this method.

Insert the point of the right-hand needle into the next stitch as if you were to knit it, but instead of winding the yarn around the needle, just slip the stitch off and onto right-hand needle.

Knit the next stitch as normal
