Make counting rows easy with bead markers (Fig 10). They also help remind you of changes in pattern or shapings to be worked at regular intervals. This is invaluable for knitters with poor eyesight, but very useful even if your eyesight is perfect.
Use lightweight beads in more than one colour or shape. In circular knitting, position at the start of the rounds. If using a circular needle you will not need the usual needle marker. In flat knitting, position between first and second stitches at one of the edges or at any convenient place.
