CO 80 sis onto 1 needle. Divide sis as evenly as possible on 3 needles. Join for working in the rnd, being careful not to twist sis, and place marker (pm) after first st to denote beg of rnd.

Leg: Knil 2 rnds. Cont in patt as foil:

Rnds 9 and 10: Knit.

Rnd 20: K9, si 1, kl, psso, k2tog, knit lo end—78 sis; center back leg will be between the 2 decs from now until Rnd 50. Rnds 21-28: P2, k2, p2, k3, p2 (center back leg), k3, *p2, l<2; rep from * to end. Rnd 29: Knit.

Rnd 30: K8, si 1, kl, psso, k2iog, knit to end—76 sis.

Rnd 40: K7, k2iog, si 1, kl, psso, knit to end—74 sts.

Rnds 41-48: P2, k2, p2,1<4, *p2, k2; rep from * to end. Rnd 49: Knit.

Rnd 50: K6, k2tog, si 1, kl, psso, knit to end—72 sts.

Rnds 59 and 60: Knit.

Rnds 69 and 70: Knit.

Rnds 71-88: Rep Rnds 51-68.

Rnd 90: K7, Ml pwise (Glossary page 115), knit to end—73 sts; piece should measure about 8W (21.5 cm) from beg. The new si is the "seam st" and will be purled every row for the heel flap.
