Redistribute sts as foil: SI last st of needle 1 to needle 2, and si first st of needle 3 to needle 2—61 sts; 15 sts each on needles 1 and 3, 31 sts on needle 2. Work 1 rnd as foil: Knit to last 2 sts of needle 2, k2tog, knit to end—60 sts; 15 sts each on needles 1 and 3, 30 sts on needle 2. Work toe decreases as foil: Rnd 1: On needle 1, knit to last 3 sts, k2tog, kl; on needle 2, kl, si 1, kl, psso, knit to last 3 sts, k2tog, kl; on needle 3, kl, si 1, kl, psso, knit to end— 4 sts dec'd. Rnd 2: Knit.

Rep Rnds .1 and 2 twelve more times—8 sts rem. Cut yarn, thread tail on a tapestry needle, draw tail through rem sts, and pull up snugly to close end of toe.

For an alternate toe finish, rep Rnds 1 and 2 until 20 sts rem, divide these sts evenly on 2 needles, and with yarn threaded on a tapestry needle, use the Kitchener st (Glossary, page 117) to graft sts tog. Weave in loose ends. Block on sock blockers or under a damp towel.
