Cast On with Double Pointed Needles

1 Cast on all the stitches required for the pattern onto one double-pointed needle.

Note: If the stitches won't fit on one needle, then cast on as many stitches as possible onto one needle and then continue casting on over a second needle.

2 Divide the stitches evenly over four needles by slipping the stitches purlwise one at a time. If the number of stitches isn't divisible by four, simply approximate.

3 Arrange the needles into a square shape, with the cast-on edge to the inside of the needles. You can lay the needles down on a flat surface to check for a twist.

Note: Be careful that the cast-on isn't twisted around the needles or your work will be twisted!
