Stitch by Stitch

If you make an error that can't be fixed by using any of the previous methods, then you probably need to unravel some of your work. If it's on the same row that you're working on, you can unravel stitch by stitch. Once you become good at unraveling stitch by stitch, it will feel like you're knitting backward, or unknitting.

1 On the knit side, hold the working yarn in back, and insert the left needle from front to back into the stitch in the row below the next stitch on the right needle.

2 Drop the stitch above off the right needle and pull the working yarn to unknit it.

3 On the purl side, hold the working yarn in front and insert the left needle from front to back into the stitch in the row below the next stitch on the right needle.

4 Drop the stitch above off the right needle and pull the working yarn to unpurl it.
