Nose The noses on most of the toys are worked by embroidering a simple horizontal straight stitch and working over the same stitches once or twice see Fig. 5c . Embroidering Eyes

Knotted eyes are especially attractive and are used on all the toys. The knot is worked onto a length of black yam and then sewn firmly in place on the head. To start with, cut a 30 cm 12 in length of black yam. Wind one end around the other as if beginning to knot the centre of the strand, but do not pull yet.
